The recent accouncement from Samsung saying that she has invented a new chip which enables a mobile LCD screen to be clearly readable under bright sunlight. The intelligent Display Driver IC (DDI) chip is integrated with the screen to make it visible in sun without consuming more battery.

The trick for this technology is because of smart algorithms which can sense ambient light and tune the backlight automatically.

Mass production of this smart LCD screen will be started at the end of this year. So, it is feasable to expect for better screen in the coming cellular phones or maybe laptops.
